Week 5

This week we didn't go to Bethlehem because they had production called 'Once upon a Pie'. Instead we just worked on our maps in our hall. In the time that we had, we managed to finish sticking our forest floor together. We had also drawn on a draft of our line for the robot to follow. In this block we thought we were very successful.

week 3

Today we had to use some of the sensors on our robots. There are four sensors, there is the bump sensor, light sensor, sound sensor and the ultrasonic sensor which senses motion. First we used the bump sensor it was a success, Then we tried the light sensor we got the programing right but one of the lights didn't work so we could not complete the second challenge. Next time we are going to try and complete this task. After this we worked on our maps for our robots to follow. We have finished half of our floor and we made a river and two logs for our robot to go around. Sorry we didn't get our buddies to post some thing because we didn't get enough time. While we were biking back to our school it started to rain and we got saturated. It was very cold and very wet. Hopefully it wont be like that next time we bike there and back. Talk to you next week when we get back.

Back again

We were really excited to be back and this time we were there for twice as long as last time. In the first half we designed our map for our robot to follow. We had some fun while doing it. Then it was morning tea. Some of us went and played bullrush. Others went and played on the adventure course. The fresh air was good after being inside for a while. Then the bell rang and we went inside. We had a challenge to make our robot go past a certain point and then beep. We successfully completed it with ease. The next challenge wasn't so easy. It was to navigate our robot to do a figure of eight in between two milk bottles filled with sand. If we just a little bit more time to add in our programing we could have completed the task, but we had to leave. Even though we didn't complete one of the tasks we still had some fun. Next time we'll try and get our buddies to write something on our blog.

Yes Success

First day of robots was awesome. We got on great with our buddies. We were given a challenge to program the robots to go round a milk bottle and back and we succeeded, that was the really positive thing of our day, although we need to work on getting one of our buddies to speak a bit more. Biking to the school was quite hard but at the same time was very funny. We can't wait till we go back next Thursday.
